Shameful defeat of PSG by Monaco

Kathmandu:- Paris Saint-Germain lost 3-0 to Monaco in the Stade Louis on Sunday in Ligue 1.

Two goals from Wissam Ben Yedder and another from Kevin Volland were enough to give Philip Clement's side the win, with PSG becoming the second-best team in the long run.

Lionel Messi was left out of Mauricio Pochettino's squad due to flu and was replaced by Giorgione.

He was joined by Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, with Wijnaldum at the right of the front three.

It was a worthy victory for Monegasque, who reacted strongly to their exit from the Europa League on Thursday, while Paris League 15 are 15 points clear at the top of the table.

The home team Monaco had a strong start to the game.

In the 25th minute, Ben Yedder, who was ahead of Presnell Kimpembe from the right in Jose Fofana's lower cross, took the lead when he beat Gianluigi Donaruma at a nearby post.

The Paris Saint-Germain got off to a good start in the second half and Mbappe had a good chance to equalize after a mistake by Axel Dessi, but the French international was denied a chance to score by Alexander Nubel.

Clement slammed Gelson Martins, who looked dangerous for Voland, for an hour, but the German striker did well in the 68th minute with Monaco's second goal after Ben Yedder and Ruben Aguilar had done well.

This means that PSG is struggling to recover from the shock of Madrid.

While Paris are set to win the league, such a performance is hard to believe, but another vague performance indicates why they lost so easily to Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Fortunately for Pochettino - who was managing his 50th Ligue 1 game - his team was 15 points away from his closest followers Marseille, the third biggest difference between the top two at this stage.
