Kathmandu:- Nepal has lost to Thailand in a FIFA international friendly match. In Thursday's match, Nepal lost 2-0 to Thailand. Philip Roller and Chaowat Weerachart scored one goal each for the home side in the game in Chonburi, Thailand.
Nepal held Thailand to a goalless draw in the first half and Nepal conceded two goals in the second half. Roller scored in the 78th minute to give Thailand the lead. Similarly, during the injury time of the game, Birchart scored a goal to give the team a 2-0 victory. Nepal will now play a friendly match against Thai club Chonbury FC. The game will be played on Sunday.
Nepal played a friendly match against Thailand in preparation for the AFC Asia Cup 2023 qualifiers. Both Nepal and Thailand are competing in the third round of AFC Asia Cup-2023. Nepal is in Group A for the third round. Where Jordan, the organizers are Tim Kuwait and Indonesia.
Thailand is in Group C. Uzbekistan, Maldives and Sri Lanka are in the same group. Nepal will be captained by Kiran Kumar Limbu against FIFA rankings and comparatively strong Thailand.
Thailand is currently ranked 112th in the FIFA rankings, while Nepal is ranked 167th. Nepal's group selection games will be held in Kuwait. Selection games that will be from 8 to 14. Nepal will start the selection by playing against Jordan on June 8. In the second match, Nepal will face Kuwait on June 11. Nepal will play against Indonesia on June 14.
