Nepal's historic success in cricket, Nepal has qualified for the World Cup cricket qualifiers by defeating the UAE.

Nepal defeated UAE by 9 runs in the last match of the ODI series under ICC World Cup League Two and has been selected for the global qualifiers of the World Cup.

In the last match at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Thursday, the match umpire announced that Nepal won by 9 runs because UAE spent unnecessary time on the field.

With this win, Nepal has secured the third place in the World Cup League Two and directly secured its place in the World Cup Global Qualifier.

Four players scored fifties for Nepal. Gulsan Jha remained unbeaten on 50 runs while Bhim Sarki scored 67 runs, Arif Sheikh 52 runs and Kushal Bhurtel scored 50 runs.

Captain Rohit Poudel scored 16 runs, Kushal Mall 5 runs while Asif Sheikh returned to the pavilion with zero runs. Dipendra singh Airee remained not out for 10 runs.

Before that, UAE, who won the toss and elected to bat first, lost 6 wickets in the scheduled 50 overs and scored 310 runs.

Asif Khan of UAE played an explosive unbeaten century innings of 101 runs with 4 fours and 11 sixes in 42 balls. Asif Khan completed his century in 41 balls.

Nepal's spinner Lalit took 1 wicket after spending 27 runs in 10 overs. Dipendra singh Airee took 2 wickets in 8 overs with 2 maidens at the expense of 19 runs. Sandeep Lamichhane took 1 wicket with 80 runs in 10 overs. Sompal Kami took 1 wicket for 74 runs with 1 maiden in 9 overs.

After winning the toss, UAE batted first and gave Nepal a huge target of 311 runs for victory. Nepal was playing by scoring 269 runs while losing 6 wickets in 44 overs while chasing the target.

At the same time, the umpire stopped the game and announced that Nepal won by 9 runs based on Duckworth-Lewis (DLA). After the umpire declared Nepal the winner, the UAE players protested the decision. Later, the match referee came to the field and informed them about the decision made by the umpire.
