Nepal's victory over Papua New Guinea

Kathmandu:- Nepal defeated Papua New Guinea by 2 wickets in the ICC Cricket World Cup-2.

Nepal completed the 205-run target set by Papua New Guinea on Wednesday with 4 balls to spare.

Sompal Kami was out for 7 runs as Nepal had to score 10 runs off 9 balls to win. Due to which pressure was added on Nepal. But soon after, Karan KC hit a four.

In the last over, Nepal needed 5 runs to win and Nepal had 2 wickets left.

In the first ball of the last over, when leg by four was struck and in the second ball, Karan hit six to give Nepal victory. He added 29 not out off 25 balls. He hit 2 sixes and 1 four.

Rohit Kumar Poudel and Aarif Sheikh scored half centuries for Nepal. Rohit added 53 runs while Rohit scored 58 runs.

Rohit hit 4 fours in 82 balls. This is Arif's first ODI half-century, hitting two fours off 81 balls.

Earlier, Nepal's opener Kushal Bhurtel was out for 1 run, Aasif Sheikh for 16, Gyanendra Malla for 4 and Dipendra Singh Airee for 8.

Nepal lost 4 wickets and added only 42 runs. Rohit and Arif then shared 102 runs for the fifth wicket. This is the biggest partnership ever in Nepal's ODI game.

In bowling, PNG's Norman Vanua, Alei Nao and Riley Hekura took 2-2 wickets.

Earlier, in the triangular series between UAE, Papua New Guinea and Nepal, winning the toss and batting first, Papua New Guinea added 204 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.

Charles Amini was the top scorer for Papua New Guinea with 59 runs in the match in Sharjah. He hit seven fours in 82 balls before being caught by Sompal Kami.

Sompal Kami took three wickets for Nepal. He gave away 48 runs in 10 overs.

Aarif Sheikh, captain Sandeep Lamichhane and Gyanendra Malla took one wicket each. Nepal ran out two batsmen from Papua New Guinea.

Arif dismissed Papua New Guinea's opener Tony Ura for 27 runs. Another opener Lega Ciaca was bowled by Sandeep for 25 runs.

Gyanendra Malla dismissed Papua New Guinea's captain Asad Bhala for 19 runs. Gyanendra was caught by Kushal Bhurtel.

Gyanendra took the first wicket in the ODIs. He bowled for the first time in an ODI.

Gyanendra also made Hiri Hiri of Papua New Guinea a victim of run out. He was run out by wicketkeeper Binod Bhandari.

Norman Vanua, who added 23 runs off 12 balls, was also run out by Dipendra Singh Airee.

Sompal bowled Chad Soper for 35 runs and Alei Nao for 2 runs.
