Nepal lost to UAE by 48 runs

Kathmandu:- Due to poor batting, Nepal has lost to UAE in ICC World Cup League Two. Following the usual target, Nepal lost to UAE by 48 runs.

Nepal could not even survive the allotted 50 overs in the game. Following the usual target of 169 runs, Nepal scored 120 runs for 35 runs and were all out in 1 over.

Nepal's Rohit Kumar Poudel played an innings of 46 runs. Rohit, who hit four fours in 60 balls, missed the target by four runs. Not only did Rohit miss out on a half-century, he also missed out on the record for most ODI centuries for Nepal.

The partnership of Rohit and Gyanendra Malla had tried to uplift Nepal from a bad start. When Gyanendra Malla was out for 28 runs, opener Kushal Bhurtel scored 11 runs while other players could not touch the double digits.

Karan KC 6runs, Asif Sheikh 7 runs, Dipendra Singh Airee 4 runs, Sompal 6 runs and Sandeep Lamichhane 7 runs scored while Arif Sheikh and Kamal Singh Airy were out for zero. Basil Hamid took 4 wickets and Junaid Siddiqui took 3 wickets in UAE's victory.

UAE, who had won the toss and elected to bat first, were all out for 168 in 46 overs with three balls to spare. In the UAE, Sompal Kami's excellent bowling put the UAE under pressure. Sompal took the first three wickets cheaply and fell behind in the UAE game.

Rizwan CP and Rohan Mustafa of UAE scored the highest 40/40 runs. Opener Muhammad Wasim added 21 runs while Kasif Dawood scored 18, Basil Hamid 14 and Ahmed Raja 13 runs.

With the victory, UAE is still in the second place in the league table with 9 wins in 16 games. Nepal is in the sixth position with 5 wins in 10 games.
