Nepal's great victory over PNG in World Cup League-2

Kathmandu:- Nepal has won the match against Papua New Guinea by 7 wickets in the ICC World Cup League Two. In the match played in UAE, Nepal defeated Papua New Guinea (PNG) in both the matches while the home team lost to UAE in both the matches. PNG had defeated UAE in one game.

Following the PNG's target of 174 runs, Kushal Bhurtel and Arif Sheikh scored half-centuries for Nepal. Arif and Rohit Kumar Poudel, who were at the crease till the end when Kushal was dismissed for 50 runs, played an excellent innings. Arif scored 59 not out and Rohit scored 44 not out. Similarly, Nepal's Ashif Sheikh scored 2 runs and Dipendra Singh Airee returned to the pavilion without opening an account.

For PNG, Charles Amini took 2 wickets while Kabu Morea took 1 wicket.

After losing the toss, PNG lost 8 wickets in 50 overs and scored 173 runs. Captain Asad Bhala contributed the highest 45 runs for him. He was dismissed by Pawan Saraf. This is also Saraf's first wicket in ODIs. Charles Amini added 13 runs for the loss of 20 runs as Lega Cia scored another double for PNG. Norman Bhanuwa scored 18 runs when Sesu Bau returned to the pavilion for 19 runs. Chad Soper 22 runs and Kabua Morea 17 runs played unbeaten innings for him. The duo shared an unbeaten 36-run stand for the ninth wicket.

For Nepal, Arif Sheikh, Dipendra Singh Airy, Karan KC and Pawan Saraf took 1-1 wickets while Sandeep Lamichhane and Sompal Kami took 2-2 wickets each.
